Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation Plants Trees to Fight Global Warming

The Mitsubishi Electric Thai Foundation demonstrated its committed to caring for the environment by inviting more than 500 executives and employees from all 11 companies under the Mitsubishi Electric Group in Thailand to plant trees and build a nature learning path.

Thailand to trial system for data centers to buy green power

Thailand is rolling out a pilot project that will allow data centers to directly purchase renewable power, a move that could make it easier for international tech giants to hit ambitious green goals in the developing nation.

The move is aimed at attracting foreign companies that must use clean power, Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said in a statement. “Clean electricity is a very important competitive advantage and direct power purchase agreements will unlock the door for Thailand.” Continued … 

Azbil installs renewable energy equipment at its manufacturing subsidiary in Thailand

Azbil Production (Thailand) Co., a manufacturing subsidiary of Azbil Corp., has signed a power-purchase agreement (PPA) with a joint venture company financed by Fuyo General Lease Co.

Under the signed PPA service, SSGT will install nearly 624kW of solar power generation equipment on Azbil Production Thailand’s factory roof, allowing Azbil Production Thailand to leverage renewable energy generated from solar power in its operations, while paying energy bills based on electricity amounts to SSGT. This means that 10% of the electricity used in the relevant factory building will be provided by renewable energy sources. Continued … 

Kingspan Enters Thailand with Insulated Panels Factory

Kingspan, a global leader in high-performance building envelope solutions, including insulated roof and wall panels, completed the acquisition of Thailand-based insulated panels manufacturer, Fatek Advance Insulation Co. on June 19. The facility, located in the Rojana Industrial Park Ayutthaya, has been renamed Kingspan Insulated Panels (Thailand) Co.

Manuel Furer, regional managing director (Asia Pacific), stated, “Kingspan Ayutthaya is Kingspan Group’s second factory in Southeast Asia. After starting production at our greenfield factory in Vietnam, Kingspan Phu My, last month, our entry into Thailand marks a new, exciting milestone in our commitment to accelerate a net-zero emissions future and deliver world-class insulated panel solutions for energy-efficient buildings in the region. Community tackles forest fires for sustainable forestry in northern Thailand

Community efforts to protect the Ngao Model Forest, tucked away in the hills on a winding 250-kilometer drive from Thailand’s second largest city of Chiang Mai, have been underway for the last 60 years.

Ngao Model Forest spans almost 2000 square kilometers, encompassing the entire district of Ngao in Lampang Province. On the edge of the district is a community of 10 villages that make up Ban Pong subdistrict, where locals rely on forage from the forest to sustain their diet and livelihood. Continued …

As Thailand aims to become a central hub for electric vehicle manufacturing in the ASEAN region, there is a growing need for digital skills and expertise in green technologies, such as battery and vehicle production.

Thailand’s automotive manufacturing sector is the country’s second-largest export sector, accounting for 14% of total exports during the first nine months of 2023, valued at 1.02 trillion Thai baht (approx.
